Alison O'Shea is Limerick-based artist. Her paintings and digital images refer to the female form quite often, typically in portraits that are altered by the removal or replacement of features. Floral and celestial patterns are often present as symbols of death and rebirth. She also makes use of anatomical features that have been isolated and removed from their natural homes to symbolise a fragile connection with ‘being’ and ‘belonging’.
