ABOUT THE ARTIST
IAN MALONE
Ian Malone is a painter whose work draws aesthetic cues from realism, kitsch, surrealism, op-art and expressionism.
His current series of paintings features peasant figures from the 1800s inspired by Jean-Francois Millet paintings, together with Rococo and Surrealist elements, which explore topics such as poverty, community, manual labour, ecology, absurdity, disgust and death.
He is a graduate of the Crawford Crawford College of Art and Design, MTU in Cork.
